CLASSES ONGOING

We are excited to welcome new and returning students for classes at all levels this year.

Welcome To Yellowstone Ballet — Montana!

Yellowstone Ballet Company is a classical Montana ballet company founded by Kathleen Rakela who began teaching ballet in Livingston in 1987 and incorporated the non-profit performing company in 1990 to give area dancers performance opportunities.

YBC is supported by donations, grants, ticket sales and the hard work of many volunteers. Through partial funding from the Montana Cultural Trust we have staged the classics: Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Gardee, Cinderella, Giselle and The Nutcracker, and produced original ballets: Hiawatha, Hansel & Gretel ~ with a Twist, Romeo & Juliet of the Rockies, Elves & the Shoemaker, The Little Mermaid and Pinocchio.

Dancers from Russia, Cuba, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Bulgaria, Japan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Venezuela and France have enhanced our productions in principal roles, including those from some of the finest ballet companies: Bolshoi Ballet, Kirov Ballet, Boston Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet,  Houston Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Adjkun Ballet, Ballet of Maracaibo, Bulgarian National Ballet, English National Ballet, Eugene Ballet, Kiev National Opera and Ballet, Ballet Ireland and the Paris Opera Ballet.

Area dancers can train at their individual studios and perform in company productions through an open audition process. Ballet backers and volunteers are welcome and appreciated!
